Joy is a feeling of great pleasure and happiness. Almost all the time we think we can find joy in only the things we find to be great. Some of the things we most of the time think we can have great pleasure and happiness in are luxury cars, mansions, fancy clothes, gainful employment, and good jobs, just to mention a few.
Joy is not all about that. It goes beyond that.
There are little ‘ordinary’ things in our lives that we can find joy in regardless of our dreams and passions. The little ‘ordinary’ things we look down on bring us the most joy in our lives.
As said earlier, being joyful or finding joy is not all about possessions; it also entails finding meaning, building connections, and showing gratitude in everyday experience. Joy comes from the small, meaningful interactions we have with others, the fulness of growth and appreciation of simple pleasures around us rather than relying solely on material possessions for happiness.
Someone may say possessions may provide satisfaction, but they rarely lead to lasting joy or fulfillment. Joy is deeper. It comes from bringing up relationships, whether with family, friends, or community, and taking the time to appreciate the beauty and simplicity in life.
Joy is also found in acts of kindness, gratitude, and personal growth.
Ending: Joy is less about the physical possessions we gather and about the memories we create and growth we experience. Those who seek joy from within rather than from external sources often find it in multiples.
