Jirapa Best Teachers Awards: Hon. Cletus Seidu Dapilah Handsomely Rewards Teachers

“All professions can boast, but the teacher trained them all.” This popular saying clearly highlights the vital role teachers play in shaping every professional in society. It therefore underscores the importance of recognizing and rewarding teachers for their immense contribution to national development.

It is against this background that the Hon. Member of Parliament for Jirapa, Hon. Cletus Seidu Dapilah, initiated a programme to reward hardworking teachers within the Jirapa Municipality.

The programme, organized in collaboration with the Municipal Chief Executive and the Municipal Director of Education, brought together several stakeholders at the Jirapa Naayiri Park on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, to witness the maiden edition of the ceremony.

The Paramount Chief of Jirapa, Naa Dinaa Donglabong III, together with other traditional leaders, graced the occasion.

Also present were various departmental heads, school heads, teachers, and a large number of students who gathered to celebrate the efforts of dedicated educators.

In total, twenty-two teaching and non-teaching staff were recognized and honored for their outstanding contributions.

The awardees included teachers from all levels of education, ranging from kindergarten to senior high school, as well as some officers from the Municipal Education Office.

Each award winner received a certificate of honour along with items such as a television set, a refrigerator, or both as part of the recognition package.

However, the overall best teacher, Madam Ernestina Nafator, received a brand new Aloba motorbike in addition to other prizes.

He further explained that the award scheme forms part of his broader efforts to improve the quality of education in the municipality, in addition to other initiatives he has co-funded with the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Peter N. N. To-ang.
Hon. Dapilah assured teachers that in the coming years, more educators would benefit from the award scheme. He encouraged them to continue working diligently to improve educational standards within the municipality.

He also expressed gratitude to the committee responsible for selecting the award winners, commending them for carrying out their work independently and without bias or political interference.

The lawmaker received widespread praise from attendees at the event, with many expressing the view that Hon. Cletus Seidu Dapilah has indeed demonstrated genuine commitment to the people of Jirapa.

The Paramount Chief for the Jirapa traditional area Naa Dinaa Donglabong Ganaa III who doubles as an educationist lauded the initiative of the MP and encouraged other stakeholders to come on board for the development of Jirapa.

At least, we have started somewhere and one can say that teachers can’t wait anymore until they receive their salaries in heaven
