Mfantsipim School emerged as the champions of the 2024 National Science and Maths Competition.
Trailing St. Augustine’s College until the fifth round, Mfantsipim pulled ahead after correctly answering the contest’s second-to-last riddle.
By the end of the final round on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, Mfantsipim had secured 47 points, narrowly surpassing St. Augustine’s College with 46 points. Keta SHS followed with 32 points.
This victory marks Mfantsipim’s third NSMQ title, with their previous wins in 1999 and 2014. The school also reached the finals in 2000 and 2016, though they did not win on those occasions.
Presec Legon, the defending champions with a record eight NSMQ titles, did not advance to the 2024 finals, having been eliminated by Mfantsipim in the semi-finals.
