Hon. Cletus Seidu Dapilah Champions Education in Jirapa: Donates to BECE Graduates and Launches Jirapa Education Improvement Fund

 

The Member of Parliament for Jirapa Constituency, Hon. Cletus Seidu Dapilah, has once again demonstrated his commitment to improving education in his constituency.

In a bid to revitalize the declining academic standards in Jirapa, Hon. Dapilah donated chop boxes and an undisclosed amount of cash to exceptional Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) graduates.


This gesture was part of the maiden edition of the Jirapa Education Improvement Fund (JEIF) programme, launched at the Jirapa Credit Union Hall on Tuesday, October 7, 2025.

The programme, chaired by the Paramount Chief of the Jirapa Traditional Area, Justice Dinaa Donglabong II, drew a large crowd of stakeholders, the Municipal Director of Education, Mr. Iddrisu and his staff, parents, and students preparing to go to senior high schools and other key officials.

In his keynote address, Hon. Dapilah emphasized the significance of education in eliminating ignorance and achieving a high quality of life.

He noted that the donation would not only motivate the students but also alleviate the financial burden on parents as their wards prepare to enter senior high school.

According to him, the cash donation was also to help buy mattress and other provisions to assist them enjoy comfort in the school.

He assured that the donation would be a yearly rite and it would even get better.

Hon. Peter N. N. To-ang, the Municipal Chief Executive together with Hon. Cletus Seidu Dapilah jointly launched the Jirapa Education Improvement Fund (JEFF) which aims to maximize educational outcomes in the municipality by organizing extra classes, quizzes, and regular supervisions, as well as providing teacher training and administrative support to the Ghana Education Service.

Hon. To-ang highlighted the fund’s potential to transform the educational landscape in Jirapa.

Parents, students, and stakeholders alike expressed their gratitude and enthusiasm for the initiative.

This gesture is part of Hon. Dapilah’s ongoing efforts to improve education in Jirapa, which date back to his tenure as District Chief Executive in 2015.

His contributions have had a lasting impact, from building schools and supporting needy students to renovating facilities and providing clean water for schools.

The people of Jirapa appreciate his dedication to their educational development.

By launching the JEIF programme and donating to BECE graduates, Hon. Cletus Seidu Dapilah has reaffirmed his commitment to the education sector in Jirapa.

His efforts are poised to yield positive outcomes and inspire future generations of leaders in the constituency.
