Hon. Cletus Seidu Dapilah Supports New Entrepreneurs with Sewing Machines and Start-Up Capital

The Member of Parliament for the Jirapa Constituency, Hon. Cletus Seidu Dapilah, has donated sewing machines and cash support to newly graduated apprentices from Duori to help them establish their own businesses.

The donation followed a graduation and passing-out ceremony held on Sunday, May 31, 2026, in Duori, a community within the Jirapa Municipality. Hon. Dapilah attended the event alongside constituency executives and other distinguished guests, with the ceremony attracting people from various walks of life.

The event was organized by master craftsmen and women to celebrate apprentices who had successfully completed three years of vocational training. During the programme, organizers expressed concern that many of the graduates lacked the necessary tools and resources to begin work independently despite completing their training.

In response, Hon. Cletus Seidu Dapilah assured the graduates of his support and pledged to provide sewing machines to those unable to afford them. Fulfilling this promise, he donated sewing machines to eight beneficiaries, while two others received cash support as seed capital to help establish and grow their businesses.

Speaking at the event, the lawmaker emphasized the importance of vocational skills acquisition, noting that learning a trade promotes financial independence, creates employment opportunities, and contributes significantly to reducing social vices within communities.

He further encouraged the graduates to remain committed to their professions and work diligently, stressing that the skills they had acquired would serve as a reliable source of livelihood throughout their lives.

The presentation of the sewing machines and cash support was made in Jirapa on Wednesday, June 3, 2026.

The beneficiaries expressed their profound gratitude to Hon. Cletus Seidu Dapilah for the generous gesture, describing the support as timely and life-changing. They pledged to make good use of the assistance and work hard to build successful businesses.

This intervention forms part of Hon. Dapilah’s continued commitment to empowering the youth and promoting economic self-reliance within the Jirapa Constituency.
