Jirapa MCE Commends MP. Hon. Cletus Seidu Dapilah as Four Major Projects Are Commissioned
The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Jirapa, Hon. Peter N. N. To-Ang, has commended the Member of Parliament for the Jirapa Constituency, Hon. Cletus Seidu Dapilah, for his significant contribution towards the development of the municipality.
The commendation came during the commissioning and handing-over of four major development projects undertaken across the Jirapa Municipality on Wednesday, August 12, 2026.
The ceremony brought together the Paramount Chief of the Jirapa Traditional Area, Jirapa Municipal Coordinating Director, NDC Constituency Chairman, Municipal Health Director, Municipal Education Director, traditional leaders, heads of institutions, staff of the Municipal Assembly and other stakeholders.
The projects, which cut across the education, health and sanitation sectors, are aimed at improving essential services and creating better conditions for residents of the municipality.
Among the projects commissioned was the provision of 970 pieces of furniture to 18 selected basic schools in the municipality. The furniture, comprising mono desks, dual desks, hexagonal tables and chairs, is expected to address furniture shortages and improve the learning environment for pupils and students.
Beneficiary schools include St. Augustine’s JHS, Siiri JHS, Hain JHS, Ganaa JHS, Goziiri Primary, Zoor Primary, Nyeni Primary, Ul-Gozu Primary, Saawie Primary, St. Jude’s Primary, Nambeg KG, Mwofo KG, Buboo KG and Tuggoh KG, among others.
A three-unit classroom block for St. Augustine’s JHS was also commissioned to replace the school’s old classroom block, which had deteriorated over the years and was no longer adequate for effective teaching and learning.
In the health sector, a new Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) Compound at Nimbare-Kompouri was commissioned to improve access to primary healthcare services for residents within the community and surrounding areas.
The Assembly also commissioned an ultra-modern 10-seater toilet facility at the Tizza Market, which is expected to improve sanitation and hygiene conditions for traders, customers and other users of the market.
Speaking at the ceremony, Hon. Peter N. N. To-Ang expressed appreciation to President John Dramani Mahama for the projects and other investments aimed at improving the living conditions of residents in the Jirapa Municipality.
He particularly commended Hon. Cletus Seidu Dapilah for his support to the Municipal Assembly and his continued efforts towards accelerating development in the municipality.
According to the MCE, the MP has used his office and influence to facilitate and fast-track a number of development initiatives for the benefit of the people of Jirapa.
Hon. To-Ang further urged the various beneficiary institutions and departments to ensure the effective utilisation and proper maintenance of the facilities to enable them to serve their intended purposes for many years.
For his part, Hon. Cletus Seidu Dapilah expressed gratitude to the Paramount Chief of the Jirapa Traditional Area, Naa Dinaa Donglabong III, and the Tendamba for their support and cooperation towards the realisation of the projects.
He disclosed that the Paramount Chief played a significant role in facilitating the acquisition of land for the projects and called on the Municipal Directorate of Education to begin processes to register lands belonging to schools across the constituency.
He explained that the registration of school lands would help protect them from encroachment and prevent associated disputes and challenges in the future.
The MP stressed the importance of education and healthcare to the development of the constituency, describing both sectors as critical areas that must not be compromised.
Hon. Dapilah further announced that approximately 2,000 additional pieces of furniture would soon be provided to support other schools in the constituency facing furniture shortages.
He noted that education had played a critical role in shaping the lives of many prominent individuals and stressed that quality education, coupled with a strong healthcare system, was essential for developing the human resource needed to drive the progress of the municipality and the country.
The commissioning of the four projects marks another significant milestone in the development of the Jirapa Municipality, with stakeholders expressing optimism that the facilities will contribute meaningfully to improved education, healthcare and sanitation outcomes across the area.
