An aspirant for the position of Constituency Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Jirapa, Bodi Emmanuel, has stated that competence, diligence and commitment to the party are key factors delegates will consider when electing their constituency executives.

According to him, insults, name-calling and character assassination will not win votes and should have no place in the party’s internal elections.

Speaking to DB Reports, Bodi Emmanuel condemned what he described as unhealthy and dirty politics, urging aspirants and their supporters to avoid personal attacks and focus on issue-based campaigns.

He explained that the upcoming elections are an internal party contest that will require unity and cooperation among all members, including both winners and losers, as the NDC prepares for the 2028 general elections.

“I think delegates deserve respect and honour. When we gather them for campaigns, we should focus on our track records and what we intend to bring on board. I believe we can communicate our intentions and plans to delegates in a manner that demonstrates mutual respect,” Bodi Emmanuel stated.

He made these remarks following alleged scathing attacks directed at him and some members of his team by individuals believed to be supporters of opposing aspirants.

Bodi Emmanuel is one of the prominent contestants in the upcoming NDC Jirapa Constituency Executive Elections.

His active involvement in NDC activities dates back to 2012, when he became the Personal Assistant to the current Member of Parliament for Jirapa, Hon. Cletus Seidu Dapilah, who was then serving as the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Jirapa.

He also served as the Branch Youth Organiser for the Wuoyiri Polling Station and has been actively involved in the party’s communication activities in the constituency.

Over the years, he has contributed to the NDC’s communication efforts through radio discussions, social media engagements and one-on-one interactions with party members and the general public.

Bodi Emmanuel is also known for his innovative approach to grassroots political mobilisation.

Ahead of the 2024 general elections, he formed a team of young party members to undertake retail campaigns across the constituency. He led the team to various markets to engage traders and voters directly.

He also coordinated door-to-door campaigns aimed at reaching voters at the community level. These efforts contributed to the NDC’s campaign activities, which culminated in the party’s landslide victory in the Jirapa Constituency.

Some political observers believe that his diligence, loyalty, commitment and competence make him a strong contender for the position of Constituency Secretary.

Meanwhile, Bodi Emmanuel has called on all aspirants and their supporters to conduct their campaigns with decency, respect and a shared commitment to the growth and unity of the NDC.

The NDC Jirapa Constituency Executive Elections are scheduled for Saturday, 24th October 2026.
