Jirapa: Hon. Cletus Seidu Dapilah Supports BECE Candidates and Invigilators Handsomely

The Member of Parliament for the Jirapa Constituency, Hon. Cletus Seidu Dapilah, has donated a total of thirty thousand Ghana cedis to support candidates and invigilators participating in the 2026 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

Out of the total amount, twenty-five thousand Ghana cedis was allocated to the candidates, while five thousand Ghana cedis was set aside for invigilators to facilitate refreshments and support their work during the examination period.

The donation was presented through the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Jirapa, Hon. Peter N. N. To-ang, on Monday, May 4, 2026, the day the examination commenced. The presentation took place at Jirapa Senior High School in the presence of the Jirapa Constituency Chairman, Hon. David Yeng, the Municipal Director of Education, Mr. Iddrisu, and other key stakeholders from the Ghana Education Service.

Speaking at the event, the MCE explained that the gesture forms part of the MP’s commitment to easing the burden on students, particularly those from less privileged backgrounds, who may face challenges during such a critical period of their academic journey. He noted that the support would help ensure that candidates remain comfortable and focused throughout the examination.

He further indicated that the allocation for invigilators was intended to provide refreshments and motivate them as they carry out their supervisory responsibilities.

Hon. To-ang encouraged the candidates to remain focused, dedicated, and determined, urging them to approach their examinations with confidence in order to achieve excellent results. He also emphasized the importance of discipline, describing it as a fundamental requirement for success in all aspects of life.

Additionally, he cautioned students against engaging in any form of examination malpractice and offered prayers for their success.

This intervention is not the first of its kind by Hon. Cletus Seidu Dapilah. Since his tenure as District Chief Executive began in 2015, he has consistently supported BECE candidates annually.

It will be recalled that a few months ago, the Member of Parliament, together with the Municipal Chief Executive, co-launched the Jirapa Education Improvement Fund. The initiative aims to enhance the quality of education in the municipality through activities such as quizzes, debates, and other academic programs.

Indeed, education remains a vital tool for shaping the future of every society. Hon. Cletus Seidu Dapilah’s continued investment in the educational sector reflects a strong commitment to the development and progress of the Jirapa Constituency.
