Hon. Cletus Seidu Dapilah Delivers Boreholes to Sigri-Naayiri and Eight Other Communities; Nine More Set to Follow

Hon. Cletus Seidu Dapilah, Member of Parliament for the Jirapa Constituency, continues to expand access to clean and portable water through the successful drilling and completion of nine boreholes across several communities.
This intervention has brought significant relief to beneficiary communities, as residents can now access safe drinking water within their localities.
The initiative has particularly reduced the burden on women, who previously spent long hours searching for water for household use.
The newly completed boreholes serve communities such as Sigri-Naayiri, Kogri, Galiyiri, and Baazu. These were boreholes that were already in use but broke down completely and had to be installed with brand new equipments so that they could be used again.
For instance, the borehole at Sigri-Naayiri which was drilled in the 1970’s broke down until the lawmaker had to overhaul the entire borehole to enable the good people of that access water.
The work started from the construction of concrete platforms where the boreholes would be mounted and every other thing needed to make a borehole function.
In addition, fresh boreholes have been provided for the people of Kuucheni, Tizza Bacholo, Die, Tizza Kan, and Tankuri. They were drilled by Hon. Dapilah and consequently installed by him.
Speaking in an interview, the lawmaker emphasized that his vision is to ensure that every community within the constituency has access to a reliable and safe source of water.
He noted with concern that it is disheartening to see women spend valuable and productive time in search of water.
He further stated that he remains committed to improving the living conditions of his constituents, adding that providing clean drinking water is essential in preventing water-borne diseases.
He acknowledged that several communities are still facing challenges in accessing potable water, but assured that plans are underway to extend similar projects to Duori Gyan, Ping, Nambeg Naale, Wulling, Charchar, Hain New Town, Tie Bonkanyiri, Tizza Kporaayiri, and Zaghe.
He also called on all stakeholders to collaborate in addressing the developmental challenges affecting the people of Jirapa.
This latest achievement adds to the 63 boreholes he constructed in previous years.
Indeed, the adage “water is life” holds true, as the availability of clean water will not only improve human health but also support livestock and enhance agricultural productivity in these communities.
